Common questions

Will Sonva work on Apple Silicon?

Yes. Sonva ships as a universal binary, native on both Intel and M-series Macs.

Can I export the audio from a board?

Not built in yet. Right now the share link is the intended way to communicate clips to clients. If you need the underlying files, they sit in ~/Library/Application Support/app.sonva.desktop/clips/ as MP3.

What happens to my clips if I cancel Pro?

Nothing. Your clips and boards stay in your library; we never delete content because someone downgraded. You will, however, not be able to create new clips, boards, or share links beyond the free tier caps until you upgrade again.

What about my live share links if I downgrade?

Existing share links stay live until their natural expiry — we don't cut customer-facing pitches mid-project. You just can't create new ones beyond the free cap. Pro-created shares also keep their white-label branding until the link expires.

Is my audio uploaded to the cloud?

Only clips that are part of a board you've actively shared. Clips that live only in your library sit on your Mac. When you publish a board, those clips' audio + metadata sync to Supabase so the share URL can stream them.

Can recipients sign up to keep a board?

No. The shared view is read-only. Recipients don't have Sonva accounts; they just open a link.

Does the share link show up in Google?

No. Every /b/<slug> page is set to noindex at the HTML, HTTP header, and robots.txt level. The slug also includes random entropy that makes guessing infeasible.
